Asthma and Anaphylaxis Courses

 

At Life First Aid, we have a number of courses which focus on Asthma and Anaphylaxis management.

Successful completion of this course will provide participants with the skills, knowledge, and most importantly, confidence, to provide first aid treatment to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury, such as asthma or anaphylaxis. emergency risk assessment/management and the development and implementation of individual asthma and/or anaphylaxis management plans.

Course in the Management of Asthma Risks & Emergencies

Successful completion of this course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to develop an asthma management plan and provide asthma related first aid interventions in the workplace.

The course covers the correct use of reliever medication, recognition, risk management, prevention and risk minimisation strategies related to asthma.   

Individuals completing this course will be able to apply their skills and knowledge in either the workplace or in the community.   

** There are specific industries that require additional training such as childcare workers, school teachers and other related industries.

The following units will be included in your certificate:

  • 22702VIC – Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies

  • VU24021 – Provide first aid management of an asthma emergency

  • VU24022 – Manage asthma risks

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider. This course is delivered as a blended online with a face-to-face assessment of approximately 30mins duration.

Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis

This course trains individuals to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis by identifying triggers, signs, and symptoms, and administering adrenaline using an autoinjector until medical help arrives. It also covers risk assessment, prevention strategies, and the creation of individual anaphylaxis management plans. The nationally recognised training is suitable for workers and workplace first aiders in any industry, supporting care for adults and children at risk of or experiencing anaphylaxis in the workplace or community.
 
** There are specific industries that require additional training such as childcare workers, school teachers, and other related industries.

  • 22578 VIC – Course in First Aid Management in Anaphylaxis
  • VU23090 – Provide first aid management of anaphylaxis
